What Does “Ocilowe” Mean?

Ocilowe means “craft” in an Angolan African dialect. This word perfectly captures the essence of my vision: every piece you find here is a celebration of artistry and thoughtful design. I chose this name because I wanted Ocilowe to stand for more than just accessories—it’s about honoring the tradition of handmade work and the unique stories behind each creation.

My Inspiration

My love for crafting began years ago, and it’s only grown stronger with time. There’s something magical about transforming simple materials into something meaningful and beautiful. With Ocilowe, I wanted to blend the warmth of handmade crochet accessories with the elegance of water-resistant gold-plated jewelry. Before Ocilowe, I ran Sweetest Cotton, another handmade accessory brand. That experience taught me so much—about running a business, connecting with customers, and, most importantly, staying true to my creative vision. While there were challenges along the way, every lesson shaped what Ocilowe has become today: a space where quality, creativity, and authenticity come first.
